How Castor Oil Packs Can Help Endometriosis Pain

Let me remind you that if you’re dealing with endometriosis, I’ve been there. Your endometriosis healing journey takes time, patience and consistency. I used castor oil packs myself to help manage my own endometriosis pain. I encourage you to book a free¬†15 minute phone consultation to further discuss your endometriosis and develop an action plan suitable for your needs.

Managing your menstrual pain can help both emotionally and physically. Endometriosis sufferers may have such debilitating period pain that it often affects their recovery a few days after their menses has already started. Although managing this pain does not solve the root cause of the issue, any pain relief is always helpful. Castor oil is especially fantastic to use because it helps with more than acute pain and technically tackles some of the root issues of endometriosis proliferation.

What Does Castor Oil Do For Endometriosis?

Castor oil has many benefits. Some include:

  • Decrease inflammation
  • Improve circulation
  • Move blood in reproductive area
  • Soften masses and excessive endometrial tissue
  • Help to restore periods

Applying castor oil packs multiple times per week can have successful long-term effects on minimizing your endometriosis severity. I suggest sticking to a strict castor oil pack schedule for at least 3 menstrual cycles to reap its full benefits.

How Do I Apply Castor Oil Packs?

You will need:

  • castor oil
  • 1 cloth (will get full of castor oil)
  • 1 towel (kitchen or bath sized towel)
  • heating pack
  • medium sized bowl
  1. Warm up your heating pack.
  2. In a bowl, pour some castor oil. Place the cloth into the bowl of oil and soak. Lift and squeeze out excess castor oil.
  3. Lay down in a comfortable place with a towel underneath in case the oil drips. Place the castor oil cloth onto your lower abdomen (pelvic region) directly on your skin. Place the other towel on top of the castor oil cloth, followed by the heating pad on top.
  4. Lay like this for about 30-45 minutes 3-4 times per week, unless suggested other wise by your practitioner.

*Do not use castor oil packs during menses.
