Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries

Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries

We invested in an air fryer a few months ago. Let me tell you, it has saved so much time in the kitchen with its minimal cooking time and gives your food that crispiness and crunchiness it lacks from the oven – at least often times! (Let me emphasize again, it saves you so much time!).

We bought this air fryer and have had great results with it. I’ve made a number of different things with it and after some practice, I’ve started to nail it. It quite depends what I’m making that will require some “mastering”.

These air fryer sweet potato fries gives that crispiness in just 20 minutes compared to a regular oven that has a 40-60 minute sweet potato cook time.

Sweet potatoes are high in Vitamin A and have a low-glycemic index. When adding healthy fat (olive oil) to this dish, it keeps the glycemic index low post-baking which is optimal for blood sugar regulation. This makes sweet potatoes a useful carbohydrate in terms of balancing your hormones naturally.

Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries

(makes approx. 4 servings)

  • 4 large sweet potatoes
  • 2-3 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • Sprinkle of sea salt, oregano, basil and rosemary

  1. Do a small preheat of your air fryer to warm it up to about 380F. About 2-4 minutes will do.
  2. Wash then peel your sweet potatoes.
  3. Slice each potato evenly into about 1/4 inch thick sticks.
  4. Place the sweet potatoes in a large mixing bowl then sprinkle on your sea salt, oregano, basil and rosemary and add your extra virgin olive oil.
  5. Cook in 2-3 batches to ensure you don’t overcrowd your basket. Spread them apart evenly.
  6. Start with 15 minutes at 380F and flip or mix about half way through.
  7. Check after 15 minutes. Depending your air fryer, you may need additional time.
