5-Ingredient Honey Dijon Vinaigrette
One of my favourite go-to vinaigrette recipes! This 5-ingredient honey Dijon vinaigrette is literally the best for many dishes – not just a salad dressing. I’ve used it as a chicken marinade and have also poured it onto cooked rice (change up bland carbs). Not to mention it’s only 5 ingredients that you most likely already have at home!
As a mom and holistic nutritionist, I try to mimic everyone’s “fav” unhealthy things and make the healthy versions of them. My 18 month old son loves this dressing on chicken while we also love it on our salad. The versatility of this 5-ingredient honey Dijon vinaigrette is such a hit. The 5-ingredient honey Dijon vinaigrette should last you up to a week in the fridge properly stored. I use a grocery-store extra virgin olive oil (no brand specifically). I love local honey and tend to get my honey from the farmer’s market. If you purchase yours from the grocery store, take a gander because you’ll find local honey on the shelves there now too (which makes me so pleasantly surprised to see when I visit new grocery stores). I use the well-known Bragg’s Organic Apple Cider Vinegar and a regular Himalayan sea salt and “clean” Dijon mustard for the remaining ingredients.
As with any recipe, taste test before adding more salt. I use this tiny whisk to stir the vinaigrette perfectly without making a mess. Toss it into an air-tight glass jar and you’re all set for the week ahead.
Other Dish Ideas
As said above, this honey Dijon vinaigrette goes beyond just salads! Here are a few fav ideas:
Simply make a batch of rice using water or broth. Once cooked and ready to eat, pour some of the honey Dijon vinaigrette over. I recommend only pouring the vinaigrette on when you’re ready to eat or else the rice absorbs it.
Wash and prepare your chicken as you normally would. Add chicken and the honey Dijon vinaigrette to a large plastic bag. Zip the bag, shake well and place in the fridge for approximately 4 hours. Grill or bake as intended.
